Set within tranquil gardens and surrounded by rolling green countryside, Farlam Hall is the perfect base from which to explore a wonderful mix of world-famous landmarks, scenic spots and hidden gems.

By road

If you’re driving, you can find Farlam Hall Hotel 12.5 miles south-east of Carlisle on the A689 Brampton to Alston road. Please note: we’re not in Farlam village.

The main north/south motorway, the M6, is only 10 miles to Junction 44 if traveling north or Junction 43 if traveling south. It is a 15 to 20-minute drive to either junction.

We have an electric car charging point on site, which is complimentary for residents. Let us know when you book if you’ll need access to the charging point during your stay.

By rail

Carlisle Station is 12 miles away and served by Avanti West Coast Trains from London Euston. Over 20 trains run per day from London Euston to Carlisle, with trip durations of 3.5 to 4 hours.

Brampton Junction is on the Carlisle to Newcastle line and is only 1.5 miles away but has limited services. If you do plan to arrive at Brampton, let us know in advance as the station is just a halt with no staff, telephones or taxis.

LNER Train Service is available from London Kings Cross to Newcastle, taking 3 hours. Taxi or Car Service is available from the station, to bring you straight to Farlam Hall.

By air

Newcastle International Airport has many commercial flights from major cities throughout the UK and Europe. The airport is 45-50 minutes away, and a taxi or car service can be arranged to take guests directly to Farlam Hall.

Carlisle Lake District Airport is a short 10-minute drive from Farlam Hall, providing General Aviation services to private aircraft. If you’re arriving by private plane, a pick-up from the airport is very easy and can be arranged by the hotel.

Helicopter landings can be accommodated on-site at Farlam Hall. Please advise us in advance (preferably giving 24 hours’ notice) if you wish to travel this way directly to Farlam Hall.
