There are walks to suit all abilities, from invigorating trails to peaceful footpaths, so whether you want to be challenged or just soak in the views you’ll find something to enjoy.

We’re situated near the end of the Northern Pennines, and access into this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is quick and easy – with mile upon mile of quiet walking country ahead of you, unspoilt and uncrowded.

Hadrian’s Wall Path is just 3 miles north of Farlam, with some of the Wall’s most famous sites and spectacular scenery right on our doorstep. Routes taking in Sycamore Gap, Steel Rigg, Crag Lough, Birdoswald and Housesteads are all just a short drive away from the hotel.

The Lake District World Heritage Site is also accessible by car from the hotel. Under an hour’s drive away, a day trip spent exploring one of the world’s most celebrated and spectacular national parks is easily doable.
