We are encouraging guests to take a tour in our brand new, enlarged Kitchen Gardens during their visit, we have always been a believer in our ‘Soil to Plate’ journey but during ‘lockdown’ we have grown the space and extended it back into the original Walled Garden, it has been a pleasure to restore and it is now back in its rightful home dating back to the 1800’s.
We are so proud of this space and many of the items grown in our gardens will take centre stage on our delicious new menus so you can sample our home grown produce yourself!
At Farlam Hall, we love the seasons that make up a year and we’re even bigger fans of the fresh ingredients that stem from each one. Backstage in our kitchen is where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens. So our chefs came up with the genius idea of creating our very own culinary Eden right here in our backyard to use for our luxurious dining options in our Cedar Tree restaurant. And what the team doesn’t know about a vegetable and what to do with it, isn’t worth the chop. We find nothing more satisfying than growing our own seasonal favourites.
If we can’t dig it up from the garden or source from the very best of our local suppliers you won’t find it on our menu…..
Our kitchen garden plays a credible role in the one-of-a-kind dining experiences you’ll find at Farlam Hall. It’s what makes us unique – we’re one of the only hotels in Cumbria to have one. A trip down to the veg patch each morning is always a special time in our day. Pitching a fork and digging up an exciting array of produce is like Christmas all year round and each harvest is more memorable than the last.
Wander down and have a look. Follow the narration of the fork-to-plate ethos we cook by. It’s an inspiring journey to follow and finishes with a comfy seat in our 2 AA Rosette Cedar Tree restaurant. Choose a dish from our dining room menu where creative innovation celebrates the exciting flavours of the produce available just inches from our doorstep.
